I'm gonna write a final review for this now. (Lets face it, I'll just continue on with saying how great this game is)
The story itself is well-written, and as i already mentioned, I love how you can really feel the emotion inside it. The characters are different and have a great individual backstory and motivation. The lewd scenes are well written, are very hot, but still have a story to tell, which isn't something you see very often these days.
The artwork is great, the normal figures as well as the lewd scenes. The layout of the menu and the game itself is great, very easy to understand, and not too bright.
I personally love the extra lore you added with the maps and the character carts
Now to things you could maybe add if you have the will and the time to do it:
- The possibility to play the whole rest of the game after selecting a scene in the scene picker ( I don't know if it wouldn't be too much work)
- Maybe look after the spelling again, especially with the punctuation (if you have some sort of script with the text i could maybe look into it and help you a bit with it if you want)
All in All it's one of the best games i've played in 2020, and definitely the best visual novel i've ever seen, keep up with the great work ^^
Awesome review! Just really great :3 I'm so happy to hear this feedback. It's always wonderful hearing some in depths words and opinions from someone who gave the game a run through.
I did try my best to give the characters a personality and give the story some good content. I know there are some tweaks that could probably be made and some word choice that would make it better, but I'm glad you enjoyed it to this extent! But yes it does need review with the spelling and grammar. It desperately needs it and while I would always accept help looking over and reviewing the spelling, the game is 350k words as a whole and that's a lot of content to look through x3 but feel free to shoot me an email or telegram message if you'd like to.
I am glad you enjoy the art too. The character art in the first iterations of the game was pretty bad imo x3 but I think it really improved after it got redone and although it's not perfect now I'm still pretty happy with how it looks. Same with the UI. I still have an old copy of one of the earliest builds of the game and it's like night and day where it started and where it's at.
I do think it would be nice to have a way to continue the game after selecting a scene. Originally I had a save creator planned for the game but it was replaced with the scene picker. It'd be neat to revisit the idea of that feature.
Anyway thank you for the whole review :3 being someone's best game of 2020 is a fantastic feeling even if it's just one person. Thank you for playing and being so wonderful with reviews! <3
There isn't a discord server yet. At the moment I've got a relatively small telegram group going, and have been deciding if and when to start up a discord server. I've been conflicted because I know a lot of people use discord as opposed to telegram, but I also didn't want to split the small group gathered already into two small chats instead of one larger one x3 so short answer is eventually I'll probably make a discord. But in the meantime feel free to join the telegram if you have it ^^
For the good ending you must get the sum of Drackey and Scylez's affection to at least +5 by the time Scene 24 rolls around. Affection is gained by dates, clothes, and answering questions in a way they like, this includes questions they didn't ask but are present when you might answer. If you do so, Drackey will agree to lead a raid on the Redprints and ask for help doing so.
Great game, actually even I (not a fan of visual novels) see this as one of the best games i've seen on this website: Great story, choices and artwork. Keep it up ^^
P.S.: I think you're after something with the chicken waffle combination
oh wow :D what an amazing bit of feedback to get. Im glad you enjoyed what I've put together and hold it in such high regard :) that really means a lot! Hopefully I can keep it up and make a few more games for everyone to enjoy as well! Thanks so much for the warm comment <3 they give me great motivation!
All I got to say about this game is it's astounding I love everything about it the characters were superb the music was superb just everything is superb everyone should give this game a try I think they would love it too and I hope you make more like this
Thank you for such wonderful feedback! It's always fantastic to hear and I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I put a lot of work into the game and comments like this make it worth it 100%. I'm finishing up some bonus content additions to this game but afterwards I'd love to make a sequel as well! It may take a while but I had so much fun with this one I'd love to keep going.
I really appreciate it :3 every bit helps and all the donations have gone right back into making the game even better with art and proofreading and extra little features. Just the thought is appreciated more than you know ^^
Gotta support that statement of Evilmoon. Everything about this novel is great, especially the emotions that are in the story. Even for someone like me, who doesnt really like to be emotional, it was really touching, especially the scenes where you can stick to your friends and help them. I too, if i can get some spare money, will be sure to send some your way, as a thank you for this great time ^^
I love that this little game could convey so much to you and give you such a positive experience! :3 I'd say that's the goal the entire time with creating these things is just to make content others might enjoy and give them a story that might leave an impact in some sort of way. When I think about the games that inspire me and meant a lot to me, the feeling I got playing them is what I really would love to give back and this means I'm taking some small steps in the right direction to do so! So thank you :)
And thanks for even considering supporting the game. There's so much I'd like to do and more stories I'd like to tell, and any donation are always optional but always goes 100% towards building these things ^^
depending on your phone, the actual physical save file might be in a different location, but it's in an xml file in a shared_prefs folder. it will be something like
Playing it right now and I am really enjoying it! I love the characters. Each one is diverse and has a distinct personality. I have to say that Scylez and Blinki are my favorite so far and I cant wait to finish it!
This vn really grew on me over the last few days, the setting and story are really unique and I was pleasantly surprised by the length. I was also wondering where the music used in the game comes from , (Specifically the song used in Willows second date.)
I'm glad you've been enjoying it! That's wonderful news! Also most of the music is licensed from a website called Digital Juice. I think the song in Willow's second date specifically is called Chilled Out. Hope that helps!
Really good game, really good story, this is just a quick comment because of a problem i found: although all of Izzy s scenes are in the game, there is no way to reach her second scene, meaning that it is not possible to reach the good ending with her as the main love interest.
yeah it is a bit of a creeperish way to begin a relationship x3
I told A_Romanian above that maybe if I got super ambitious I'd add a secondary possible route. I could see a way to do it but for now it's probably a bit low on the priority list.
Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Anzuneth is correct in that
spoilers maybe
you can reach both of Izzy's scenes but you do have to snoop in her laptop to do so. But this will enable you to see one of her scenes directly after that. Is that the best way to start a relationship... admitidly probably not x3 but it works. Maybe if I get super ambitious in the future I could add another route, but for now that's the current way.
Currently there is no route for those two, however I do have plans to add a bonus scene with Rickon that may satisfy your wants. Perya also has a possibility to receive the same treatment but it'd be down the road a bit.
Ok dude like actually what the fuck. I downloaded this game because I was bored and wanted some furry smut, but like after I played for like 15 minutes I wasn't even here for the porn anymore. The fact that this game had a more interesting story than most recent games I've played is insane. Easily my favorite furry game out there. Keep up the good work this is amazing.
Awesome! XD That's what I like to hear. Glad you stuck around for the story and got to experience the smut. Thats a win win IMO. I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks for giving it a shot and leaving a comment too! It's always awesome hearing of people's experiences. To be a favorite furry game is some really high praise for me :D
The passion and dedication you have for this game is truly amazing. Never get discouraged and do what you love! Remember there is a dragon who will always support you in your endeavors ^.=.^
Oh god... This game... Hooked immediately, and somehow managed to get what appeared to be the best ending on the first go; with it being made better due to my romantic relationship with, well...Scylez, honestly. That sweet and loyal raptor was too damn cute and innocent to not get attached to~ No idea why I admitted that, but I did.
And, well..I only really think it was the best ending I got. Was only labelled as the good ending, but not sure how the ending I got could have been any more picturesque outside of maybe having better bonds with some of the other characters since everyone except Scylez, Willow, Izzy, and Blinki all had a final score of 5 or below, which actually confuses me a bit, but we'll get into that later; and not sure how I could have done more than I did with the minimal bonding opportunities presented to me.
I also just now realized partway through writing the second half of this post that Liukhalo didn't seem to make an appearance during the festival in any way, shape, or form, so now I am wondering where he went off to and if I could get him to show up with the others at the end and have that actually be the "best/perfect" ending.
Anyway, first time I've heard of you and your work, and already in love with all of it. Only regret I had was not being able to stay awake long enough to complete it in one sitting.
That being said, I did notice quite a pair of rather noticeable bugs/glitches that did somewhat get in the way and cause some confusion/worry for me every now and then of varying degrees. The first one isn't anything major and was pretty much entirely negligible for the most part, but the second one is definitely something that should be looked into if at all possible, as it does risk ruining the experience quite a considerable amount:
1) Every now and then, more often towards the final few chapters, the game would declare someone was talking when that person either wasn't talking, or wasn't in the scene entirely. For instance, when Scylez woke me up for the festival and was talking about the things he did for me while I was sleeping and recovering from my wounds, it suddenly said Blinki was talking when it was mentioned I didn't really have much food for the raptor to work with, and I got super excited thinking he was about to come in since his fate was left rather ambiguous last I saw him, but then realized it was a glitch when the next bit was just continued dialog from Scylez without the ice dragon showing up.
2) This ties into the relationship score confusion earlier, and it's going to take a couple blocks of text just to go through my experiences/examples; but loading a save game seems to have a rather high chance of altering some of the selections the player made previously in the run.
For instance, there were a couple times, I think somewhere around 3 or 4 times, where I reloaded a save just to reread some of the dialog to influence my choices better or to see what the immediate effect the other option had before reloading to go back down my original path so I can try and stay on the path my heart and mind originally told me to go down; and I noticed that rather frequently, even though all of this was supposed to be on a single playthrough on "All Natural" mode, the characters would be called in as their clothed variants. The first 1 or 2 times this was usually fixed on a scene transition, but when I loaded my save from last night to actually complete the game, the characters were called in as their fully-clothed versions and stayed that way all the way to the end screen.
Also during the festival, the "missing item" storyline seemed to have been completely altered from what actually happened, as the characters involved were talking as if the culprit came clean with the victim about what happened; even though I selected to take full blame for the incident and never ratted out the true culprit. I mean, it was nice to see that their relationship was completely in tact regardless of the truth, but it was extremely strange seeing myself and the others talk about the event in a way that didn't actually happen according to the choices I actually made.
I also saw some characters and names appear that I seemed like I was supposed to be familiar with during said festival, but I had no memory of; namely Radolf mentioning a fellow named "Tyson;" and one of the stall owners being a chameleon painter. Given the tone used by myself and Radolf, it seemed like that name and the description were supposed to be meaningful to me in some way, but neither of those details came up prior to those final moments, and as such I was just left rather confused. Thinking on it, I can theorize the painter was supposed to be reminiscent of Liukhalo since he was the only artist I was aware of prior to this point, but a chameleon and a somewhat alien feline were way too far apart for the connection, and the chameleon wasn't given any sort of color designation when Liukhalo's "defining" feature was his green fur...so the only other thing I can think of is that the game alerted my choices in a way that had me connect to Radolf in some meaningful way so as to have him talk about this Tyson person, and either that same choice or another choice was alerted to have me stumble across this chameleon.
And then at the end screen, the relationship scores showed Jane had a final relationship score of 0 even though I romanced her. There wasn't any dialog regarding my romance of both her and Scylez from either of them, and I wasn't forced to choose between either of the raptors, so that was highly unlikely to play a part in her nonexistent score; meaning that the only thing that could have affected it that I am aware of would be the one time I reloaded a save after romancing her, which would have been during our climatic escape to see if all of the nameless NPCs we were rescuing could have been saved.
So yeah, that second thing is definitely something that should be looked into if at all possible. But still, it was an amazing experience, and am certainly looking forward to playing through the rest of your current work when I get the chance~ And likely even your future projects~ And I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this one's development~ Would love to give it another playthrough when it's more further developed and the open-world segments mentioned on the main menu are fully developed~ Would absolutely love nothing more than to see what new potential story paths and bonding opportunities that side of the game brings to the table~
Awesome! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game and gave me such positive feedback. It's fun you ended up romancing Scylez :3 I can't say I don't have a bit of bias towards that option as well lol. But the story has been a big focus of mine and it's a great feeling when I hear it was able to grip you and keep you playing! I'm so happy about that. I also appreciate the constructive criticism and bug report as well. I love getting both types of comments so thank you a ton! Receiving feedback like this always helps improve the game in a big way and I don't just say that. This game has, for the most part, been developed 95% by one individual, and now it's ballooned into something so big it's hard to reliably bug test and catch everything. Which is why I love love love when folks such as yourself report findings :D
I'm glad to know the bugs you encountered didn't completely ruin the experience and you enjoyed it enough to continue through the story. That's a big worry of mine, that the errors and mistakes prevent people from wanting to play. I admit, the save system in this game has always been a pain in my side. Although the experience you're having with the all natural mode bug gives me a new idea as to where to look for errors, which is good news... kinda. It's something I definitely will be looking into more because breaking the sequence of the game or altering decisions is a big big problem. It's also possible the save file gets set properly but I messed up with loading the proper section (but I'm willing to bet the ladder).
Spelling and the incorrect character tag has also been a problem in the past. It's a very simple fix, and in fact I've gone and fixed the issue with Blinki's tag showing up in the final scene thanks to your feedback just now (that will be fixed in the next update). These little bugs are easy to fix but sadly because of the sheer number are also easy for me to miss when reviewing which is why it's always a great help to hear about them as well. I have another playthrough of the game scheduled after I finish my current round of spell checking and hopefully I can catch more of these during that.
I think the errors you encountered regarding characters being mentioned without you encountering them (such as hearing about Tyson from Radolf) are just me goofing and forgetting the possibility of not encountering some of these stories. Word choice is very important in sections like when so many options can lead to a scene, and it sounds like Radolf's festival scene has some implications I need to look into or maybe even a branching path needed. I'm making special note of this now too!
Anyway that's enough of me babbling. Thank you for the feedback, and thank you again for playing the game! I say this a lot in these comments but I always love hearing people's experience with my game. and I'm super thankful you put so much effort into the post. I read all the comments here and I really appreciate the length of your post and effort you put into giving me feedback! With feedback like this I will hopefully turn this game into something bug free eventually. The help is very much needed and appreciated. You're awesome! While I do have previous projects none are as "professional" (if I can say that) as this one, however I do have a small new 3D project in the works I'm excited about and I think will be much better quality wise than my previous 3d works :3
Oh and before I go, I'll just let you know it is possible for Liukhalo to appear at the final ending scene as well, but it takes a specific bit of dialogue towards the end of the game, amusing something unfortunate didn't happen to him ;)
Hehe~ No problem~ It was a complete thrill being able to experience and be part of this story~ Was definitely a wild ride that I could not get enough of~ Definitely a top pick in my opinion~ Will definitely be re-running the story at some point to see if I can improve my relationship scores in some way or get everyone involved in the festivities since I actually rather liked Liukhalo. Poor kitty deserved better than what he got. Granted, I liked pretty much almost everyone and thought they were all written with a rather great amount of realism and consistency, so have no complaints on that front~
And yeah, the bugs definitely didn't get in the way that much, but that was likely more to do with the fact that the choices made that were changed didn't seem to have any longer lasting effects or weren't brought up a whole lot. Only major event change that I can recall being brought up that wasn't exclusively brought up towards the end was when Drackey and I had that extended lunch break where he and I brought up a time I supposedly ditched him and made up an excuse that had me helping Scylez with a project. Actually had to look at the plot web for that, and I can only surmise they were talking about the Chapter 3 event where he asked me to get a drink to start up the missing item sub-plot; but I know for a fact I agreed to that drink due to it being an explicitly urgent matter, so that was a bit odd; but not something that got in the way of things. Was almost definitely the first time I encountered the bug in dialog, or at least the first time that it stuck out so explicitly, so I just assumed at the time it was tied to the inaccessible content; only to realize it might have been a bigger issue when the other events mentioned came up at the end game.
Not saying that the lack of references to past events is a problem, as I surmise that was mostly due to the fact the game in its current state is almost entirely focused on only going through major events that are tied to the main plot in some way and, given particular snippets of dialog, said events seem to happen anywhere from days, to literal weeks, and maybe even a couple months apart, and as such don't really have that many places for said references to realistically come up. I can only assume this is something that's going to be changed as the day-to-day open area segments of the game get further and further along in development and branched out more, so it's definitely good that this bug is rearing its ugly head up now and not later on when it could pose an actual direct threat to the game and its enjoyment value.
Oh, and speaking of that plot web actually reminded me of something. There are things mentioned in the web that seem backwards or improperly linked. To avoid spoiling too much, two of the bigger ones that I noticed that seemed inconsistent to how I played are the scene where you can either accuse or ask Kase about the valuables; and the scene where you have to end the argument between Blinki, Liukhalo, Drackey, and Radolf. The Kase situation seems to be labelled backwards, as I went the friendlier ask route in-game since being aggressive out the gate seemed like a real bad idea when talking to a headstrong equine jock, but the web had my route labelled as the accusatory route. And then the event with Liukhalo didn't actually occur with me, even though the web says it was supposed to occur if you sided with either him and Blinki, and I definitely took Blinki's side of that debate since he was the one I was most sympathetic towards in that debate and the one I wanted to form a tighter connection with. Not saying it's a problem, but it's definitely weird seeing inconsistencies like that. There were other things, but those are the two that I can immediately remember. Might have to go through and write those down too at some point...
Next time I play through this game, likely whenever the next update comes out, I'll try to remember to keep a notepad or something open so I can have a better log of events as they play out. See if I can catch some more of these bugs, typos, and incorrect name tags coming up so I can provide even more assistance in making this the near perfect experience it's already shaping itself to be; as I believe I recall the name tag issue being a surprisingly prevalent one. Actually saw it come up again during Izzy's lewd scene when I was going through the scene selector to see the romance opportunities I missed out on. I mean...if having someone comb through your work so critically and potentially sending said list your way is something you wouldn't mind a complete stranger doing, that is... ^w^;
And now I'm the one babbling again... Guess that just shows how enthusiastic I am about this project... ^w^; But yeah, amazing work thus far, and seriously looking forward to see where this ends up~ Seeing the triple digit numbers given to the bonus scenes of the scene selector has me rather excited for the potential of this piece and what might come to follow~ Either way, definitely loving the work so far~ Ended up downloading NocVeil last night, and will definitely be giving that its own look through and rating when I get a chance~ And am definitely excited to hear about this new project and will be giving that a look too when it becomes available~
I played it 3 times and already got into my heart i got the perfect ending, in the 3 run. The second was almost but i dont know why but i got really sad when i saw Blinki get killed. so im immediatly started over to save her. Every character just got into my heart. Im really glad that i found this tale. Also i want to ask that this inspired me so much that i started to wrote a character to this world, and i dont know if i should send it or its unnesessary.
Oh awesome! I can't believe you liked it so much you played through it three times! XD That's got to be a record.
And sure! It's super neat that the game inspired you to write something that belongs to that world. Feel free to send it if you want. It'd be neat to take a look. Maybe sometime I'll have to add a community diaries section to it somewhere for things just like this!
As I haven't completed the full game yet, I do want to give my current two cents on the game so far. I really do enjoy many aspects of the story, and spreading out to other characters to get to know them and date them better. However, I do have a couple things about the game that irk me just a bit.
Towards the beginning of the game, the player had the opportunity to move around the map in a 2D Pokemon Black & White style setting, being able to see all around them and find out more about their surroundings. However, I've gotten about... 20 chapters in maybe? And by now, there's no other movement around the map to be seen. I kinda find that disappointing, as it limits some of the choices to be made by the player on who to go with and what to do, despite having those choices in text as well. I would much rather love to see a bit of extra movement choices as well.
As for the story, the characters are built up wonderfully, the storyline makes sense, everything plays out naturally, and I enjoy that out of this game. However, one thing that irks me about the text in this game is that some of the scripting has some sentences spelled incorrectly. I will try to get a screenshot to show what I mean, but with such a professionally built game like this, it's important to have the right spelling set up in the game. I would just say a quick review through the scripts with a second or third set of eyes should help with correcting misspelled words.
Other than that, keep up the good work. I hope to see some animations with this game if you learn or know how to do so!
Thanks for the feedback! It always does help me prioritize features and fixes for the next build and I'm always open to constructive criticism! I'll be honest that I agree with your critiques 100%. Being honest, the 2D pokemon style movement was added in after the fact. The visual novel was never planned on having this feature but after writing the script for so long I was really craving something that let you adventure a little bit so I added this little feature. It did feel a little bare bones to me and I've been hoping to fill that void with some optional scenes to be found within it as well as more movement options, and recently clothes to find, but it's slow going developing those sections. I have my eyes set on that in the future though!
It's wonderful to hear you're enjoying the story as much as you do! I'm super happy about that. And believe me, spelling errors are the bane of my existence. I'll be honest again, I'm pretty bad at spelling but I do like writing (strange I know) so these errors have plagued me for a long time. I've gotten help from one amazing person to proofread the novel, and I've given it a few reads myself, and I can say it's got far far less than it used to have but I won't doubt there are still lots to be found. I'm working my way through reading it again and hoping to find more help on this front too. I'm stoked you called it a professional looking game though! It means a lot to the programmer in me.
If you find any spelling errors and want to report them to me please do and I'll get them corrected ASAP! I can always be reached here (although sometimes my notifications are funky), or at ScylezStudios@gmail.com
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you had fun <3
Keep in mind that I haven't yet finished the game, so I haven't seen everything it has to offer. I'm having a ton of fun with the game! I don't know just how long it is but I will say that the date events for the same characters feel really spaced out. I've been playing for multiple hours and have yet to get to a second date. Then again, since the slice of life / dating aspect is more what I'm in for, it might just seem long for me because I'm biased. I think after trying out two different paths, the only second date I could have had by now would have been Scylez'.
Overall I feel like my favorite parts were probably the nightmare scene with the mirrors and stuff, Jane's first date, and Liukhalo's (someone I wish we saw more of) first date. I've grown quite attached to all the characters tho.
It's a very solid experience. I think that the plot's really interesting and that the characters are too! It's not exactly what I was expecting, but I'm pleasantly surprised. I also like how dates don't seem to be locked to a fixed date (ironically). The only things I actually have a problem with are that the save system doesn't save at the spot where you are but at an arbitrary earlier moment and that you can't see the dialogue history or scroll back through the text if you missed anything due to missclicking. You have to load a previous save.
PS: Holy crap I just played chapter 16 as I was writing this. I'm satisfied with Liukhalo now lmao
EDIT: The more I think about it the more I realize that a lot of choices could've led to other opportunities for dates. I guess I just got unlucky / unknowingly picked the wrong things lol. Got to Radolf's second date. He's adorable.
I'm really glad to hear you've been having so much fun! I guess it is technically less of a dating simulator and more of a choose your own adventure type story but there are at least two dates for each of the 10 romance options sprinkled in there somewhere :) if you finish the game up and want to see a date specifically that was missed, I've put scene flowcharts in the "more options" section of the main menu that will show you exactly how to see each date for each character. Also if you don't feel like playing through the whole game again I have a "scene picker" selection in the main menu too that will let you play through any scene you want!
I must warn you too that some of the dates conflict with others, so for example you can't see both of Scylez's dates and also both of Liukhalo's dates. There are a couple instances where one choice will shut down the option for another. I think it's possible to see Liukhalo's second date after scene 7 in the right paths are taken. I'm glad you got to scene 16 at least because it's true he disappears for a bit in the middle but makes a reappearance in a fun way. It's fun that you managed to find Radolf's second date because his is definitely the hardest to find in the game.
Hope you continue having fun with it! The text scrolling feature is something I do want to add. Either that or a log that can be looked at from the pause menu to see previous and maybe missed messages.
Just finished my first playthrough and booted up another one! I must admit that I'm a little confused by some of the affection scores I received, but that's not a big deal, it was really fun regardless! Funnily enough I didn't even have to load previous saves or anything for Radolf, it kinda just worked lmao
I'm also very intrigued by a couple of characters I saw in the image gallery but didn't meet in my first playthrough. Hoping I cross their paths in the second one!
EDIT: I'll also do everything in my power to help Blinki >: ( (Also cheers for the Bob Ross reference)
Hey, just a quick question, I'm trying to have some one on one time with Blinki during Scene 9, but no matter what I pick I can't seem to do so. I've literally tried every path option at this point. I don't know if it's a bug or something because of previous saves? I haven't tried deleting them yet but I think that's the next thing I'll try.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. You are correct, this is a bug. It's as simple as an "||" instead of "&&" within the code causing this. I'll upload an update to fix this either later today or tomorrow!
After playing this for many hours, (And becoming addicted), I do believe I am ready to review. (Also I apologize for any spelling or grammar mistakes I may make I am righting this at unspeakable wee hours of the morning. That and I have not finished it, however I plan to as soon as this is posted) To be honest I don't know how to put what Im feeling right now into words. My stomach feels like butterflies, and my face is sore from laughter and smiles. (All good things) WOWZA. I have never felt so much joy playing a video game. Ever. I saw the artwork, and I was instantly in love. The references, the immersion, the characters. (Halo, Dnd, and so many others, It makes me burst with joy) All I can say is Scylez is a literary genius.
And I swear Im not trying to copycat for attention, (As im not looking for a response) But hearing Scylez's character during the game night scene, it made me do some thinking. I have always tried to be a advid programmer, but I have never gotten far. I have always struggled. Programming languages are hard, and I know his pain. I...have had to put it on the back burner for a while, and attempt to finish out my final years in school, so I can find time, and get the appropriate computer and programs to test and run programs. Hearing his characters struggles makes me feel like there is hope yet. Also makes me want to just bust through this last year of schooling and finally have the ability to make time to do these things. And if Scylez does read this, All I can say is, Thank you. For the laughs, hope and overall joy you have come out with. Keep going, and know that if I can, Ill see about supporting you once I'm outta school, and have a actual job, even if your not working on something.
Besides the sanghelil character, I put a couple other halo references in the text too ;) I wonder if anyone will notice those! I
Thank you for the super kind words! I'm glad you really liked the game and enjoyed it enough to leave such wonderful feedback. I love reading through posts like this and hearing other peoples likes and dislikes with the game. You've given me a really stellar review here and it's hard to say how cool and how much it means to me. I can't be more happy when something I made has a positive affect on someone else. It's the entire reason I wanted to make games in the first place!
You may have already guessed this, but Scylez's struggles in the game were my own and for a long time it was super hard to get into programming. I loved the idea but couldn't get started. Programming its self was a neat concept, and I really love games so learning programming by writing games was the best way for me to learn. I did have a ton of terrible games at first but creating them made the experience of learning much easier and through brute force and many many failed projects I was eventually able to learn enough to be comfortable. Hopefully you'll also be able to find that spark that helps motivate and teach you.
Thank you for the fun review. Hope school goes well and hopefully your programming adventures are just beginning! They say it takes 10,000 hours to become a master so don't get discouraged if you're not a pro right away! Everyone always has more to learn :)
(Once again I would like to apologize for my late comment/reply I'm somewhat of a night owl) Thank you so much for putting the time into this comment. It means alot to see how much work you have put both into the game and your community. I'm sorry for the 2 day late response, but I have read your reply Extensively, and began the hunt for more references. Needless to say I was like Marv from home alone 2 when he was hit with the bricks.
I'm not entirely sure if this is it, but, your comment might be enough of a spark. To be honest, I didn't think it was entirely possible to learn through trial and error. (Although now that I think about it, I see how it could be done) I think I might follow in your footsteps and attempt some games of my own with the little knowledge I do have. I don't mean to impose, or steal any more of your time, but I was wondering, Do you have any advice? Starting programs, coding languages, tips and tricks, things to avoid? Thank you once again for such a fun and eye opening experience. Keep up the awesome work.
I'm in no way an expert so take things I say with a grain of salt, but I can tell you some things that I encountered when trying to learn.
Starting was the hardest part for me because I instantly wanted to do everything and it was frustrating to have just barely grasped the concepts of programming. Not only was this frustrating but starting was also a slog. It took a long time to learn all the basics and understand them well enough where I could take information from elsewhere and build upon my knowledge. At the beginning it seemed like many books, tutorials, and videos assumed I knew information that I didn't, so my questions as to "why" never got answered. So for me the hardest part was the beginning and I assume that's what stops a lot of people from progressing.
I think having a medium that encouraged me to learn more helped a great deal. I wanted to make games, so learning more enabled me to do more. I started out making text adventures in C++ just with Visual Studio which didn't require much knowledge so it was a good starting point. Then I moved to making 2D games with C# and XNA and I learned a great deal more about classes and the actual flow of OOP. And then I discovered Unity and things really blew up. I knew enough to make simple games and was hooked on trying to do more and that's how I ended up here.
This may be a long winded response but I guess it boils down to start small and work your way up. If you look up tutorials make sure you understand the code that's being presented. I've followed tutorials before and written code along with a video but in the end, I ended up with code I didn't understand and couldn't really edit. I had lots of questions on "why" that never got satisfied. Other than that, just find the best way to learn for you. For some people it's books, others it's videos. for me it was a combination. Books really helped me start and grasp the concepts, but for more advanced things it was hard to understand and a video or example was much more helpful. I had a Unity book and followed along making an adventure game and I remember creating the inventory system they described, but in the end what I mentioned above happened. I followed the instructions, ended up with a working inventory, but had no clue how it actually worked. Setting smaller goals and accomplishing them made the learning process longer but more understandable. And now I'm still learning a lot. I'm in a place where I can look at the projects and code I wrote last year and instantly see code that can be improved, and hopefully next year I'll see the same thing.
Maybe this helped you and maybe it didn't but I hope you'll give it a shot and see where it ends up. I learned the most when I was having fun, and I find a great deal of joy programming. I think of it as a puzzle with infinite solutions, and the puzzle is to find the most efficient solution. If you want to start small, just download visual studios community edition and make yourself some simple C# winforms applications. It's a good entry point without the need of fancy graphics and can do whatever you want. You could make a custom DM screen, or a personalized reminder app, or even a really cool text adventure. If you want to make games specifically, Unity might still be a good starting point if you don't overwhelm yourself but I'm honestly not sure. I don't have much experience with other game engines since I wanted to pick one and really learn it inside and out. I can't recommend XNA anymore since that language is pretty much dead. So just try things out and see where it takes you :D
I always seem to have a 2 day delay don't I? I wanted to thank you for your detailed response, and your words of wisdom. I have many ideas for games, and so many of them require complex coding skills I have yet to acquire. I have never worked with C++, only Java, HTML, and Python. I hope this might be enough to go on to branch out. Thank you So so much. Once again you made my day, and given me a place to start. I, may not be back on here for some time. So much to do, prepare for and learn. But, I do hope I am able to come back some day, and thank you again for these kind words, and advice. Until we meet again, this is Lone Droid signing off.
Sound settings don't work. Even if I turn down the volume in the menu, it neither saves or nor applies it ingame. Also the menu is kinda busted in general, try, for example, opening the sound menu and then pressing enter.
Thanks for the report! It's true the sound settings I don't think were ever implemented properly. I'll add this to my list of fixes to hopefully push in the next update!
Well ...after silently following this game after clicking a random ad on a website (e621 yes I am a pervert) I would not admit to frequenting, I'm ready to leave a comment.
Wow...just wow. This was a good story. What you did with erotic fiction is what I have hoped to do with erotic fiction for years. Tell a fascinating story with a good helping of erotic content mixed in. I was hooked the first time I played. You are a talented writer, artist, and coder. When I played this I just went along with the ride and lost myself in the world and story. The world wasn't as expanded upon, which was fine because the characters, story, and everything else was so well done.
I honestly felt the main story line led me on by the nose and the biggest decisions that had the biggest impact on the story was made for me, but I was okay with this because it was how I think how it would have turned out anyway. The antagonist's takeover was very believable but not likely to succeed and I think the breaking by the main characters busting into the redprint hideout would bust them even if the protagonists "failed." I have a hard time figuring your (very competent) protagonists would have failed in their ventures into the redprint's headquarters. I also liked the antagonist and I understood his motivations. I sympathize with him enough to make him a good villain.
As a former professional erotic fiction writer who returned to the yolk of the professional world you really inspire me to go back into the world of art. I miss it way more than I'd like to admit. That is one thing I wanted to comment on, all of your main characters, save three, were artists, which helped in their likability for me. In my first and only playthrough I ended up with the person I figured I would (Corsica without seeing erotic content of her like I did in the e621 ad, this is not a complaint). I wonder if there I anything I could have done to ended up with someone different.
Half a month ago, I wanted to offer you editing work for free. I wanted to get back into game design and writing work again, just for fun (without the pressure of having to do it for money). It is the least I can do for a fan of the game Utopia (intellivision). I am a fan of that game even though I am too young to love that game, but I still do.
Anyway thank you for creating something for letting me breathe as an artist again. Please let me know what I can do to send money your way to do something like this again.
You are a very talented person. You inspire me to try to write professionally again.
How can I reply to such an amazing comment? This message filled me with so much joy and satisfaction, I don't think anything could bring my day down after this. It's been my one goal from the start to create a game others would enjoy playing, and to tell an interesting story worth reading. Besides a love for programming, that's the biggest motivation for me. Just to create that experience that encapsulates why I think games are such a fantastic medium for entertainment. I think this comment validates that I've been able to provide that experience. And I know there are errors still present in the game, but I can say now that it's a worthwhile experience, and being able to say that means the world to me. It's as valuable as any donation. Thank you for giving that to me and overall I'd like to give a wholehearted thank you for this lovely comment. I'm so glad you took the time to write and tell me. And please if you'd allow it, I'd love to use your wonderful statement as a testimonial (if you'd rather I not that's perfectly ok too).
Thanks for playing my game and clicking that ad. I'm so glad you did. It's a strange feeling for me to be the one inspiring someone to create rather than it be the other way around. But I'm glad I helped rekindle that spark and love for art and writing. Just on the flip side, comments like yours also inspire me to keep progressing so collectively I think we all can inspire each other and keep this perpetual feeling of joy and accomplishment going.
Please continue your work and writing! and later down the road I'd love to see what you also create!
Hello and thank you for such a nice reply! I honestly didn't know you'd reply after such a massive wall of text. I am actually getting back into writing though it's going a bit slow. Work has been crazy and between that and real life it's kind of hard to find the time, but I am slowly putting words to paper.
You can absolutely use my post as a testimonial. I really enjoyed the game. There were a few things I had issues with but I was having too much fun with the story to really worry about them. I can give you a full rundown if you like though I'd want to play through the game a bit more to really get a feel for it, dig into different scenes and choices etc.
I'm going to check out the rest of your stuff. Anyway take care and I look forward to the finished product. I'm gonna throw a sale your way.
Thank you! The compliment means a lot. I'm glad you like the artwork! I did create them all using my drawing tablet digitally on the PC. This is actually the second rendition of each character. Three years ago I drew them all, and then really practiced and improved my art and re-did all the character artwork to what we have now.
The biggest addition to the 2.0 update was one more scene added to the end of the game. In addition to that was the addition of the image gallery, and numerous numerous bug fixes.
2.0 wasn't really a huge update, but after 1.9 I figured it would just be the least confusing to go onto 2.0 instead of like 1.91 or something like that.
It's a bad habit, but I didn't create a devlog for this update because I've been working on a few small fixes and wanted to get those implemented and updated before I did so. In the future I should probably always do a devlog and make smaller bug fixes 2.0.1 but hey, live and learn I guess lol
Oh and I almost forgot, I added the "scene picker" so if someone wants to play a specific scene they can play just that one part. It will get another update with more options later but it's been implemented in 2.0 as well!
I was really surprised with this! A lot of VN's I've played recently have just been 20 minutes long proof of concepts, interesting but just another game that probably won't get any proper content for months if not longer. This one has a surprisingly large amount of content, a pretty good plotline, nice characters, very good CGs, and although a bit rough around the edges with some typos or [player name] dotted around, is really enjoyable!
I've played through most of the routes now and I think Scylez is the one I'd most like to give a massive hug to (along with Willow, they're both just adorable), but Blinki is the one I'm sticking with, he's a nerd with self confidence issues and is surprisingly kinky, I'm all about that <3
I'm really sorry to say that I'm not able to subscribe to the Patreon right now, but I really wish you the best of luck with it all, and this VN really deserves a lot more attention than it's currently getting :)
Thanks a lot for the kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game so far! It's so amazing to hear your experience and I'm glad there's a few characters you've taken a liking to :D that means I've been doing things right!
I admit it is rough around the edges in parts. It definitely needs another proofread by myself and the [player names] are the bane of my existence, but I'll be working really hard to get them sorted out! This project has been a big passion of mine for a long time and I promise to work hard and sort it all out!
Don't feel pressured at all to join the patreon either. You taking the time to write me some feedback is reward enough! I'm just super glad people such as yourself have been enjoying it! <3 It's an indescribable feeling reading comments such as yours. Thank you :)
yo this is a brilliant game and love the game just got one question i romanced draptor boi Scylez (i mean one the second date the NSFW option) why does it repeat the day after "the scene" its the only thing i'm confused about why doon't it continue after?
Hi there! I'm really glad you're enjoying the game! (I'm also excited you chose Scylez to romance <3 ). Hopefully I can get you're problem solved too so the game works as intended.
After Scylez's second and NSFW date the game should continue onto Scene 10 (the group meeting scene) and then on to scene 11. Are you having problems with Scene 10 repeating? If you're able to give me a little more info on the issue I'll try my best to get a fix going right away!
don't need to rush though it mite be because i was using the web browser version which was doing it i have downloaded it but i just carried on with the web version since i made it nearly to the end, anyway apart from that i'm really happy with it can't wait to see what's in store for the next part.
also will in the next part will there be more date with the cast (even if you done there romance) i'd love to see more scenes of Scylez best guy t be with (and in many ways to relate to maybe why i like him so much)
also one more thing if you need any ideas give me a holler as an up coming games developer (i'm nearing the end of college) i can always come up with stuff (and to tell you the truth i'm imaging a alternative universe with m character in it XD tbh i can't stop think on it and if you like to know a little about it i don't mind telling you)
Alright, I'll look into both versions of the game still to ensure everything is working as intended. I wouldn't be shocked if there were still a couple bugs hiding out in it that need fixing.
In the next part I am planning on adding more content. Nothing is official but I'm planning some side stories and romances with side characters, and after that probably more dates with the main characters. We'll have to see but most likely I'll be adding more.
And sure I'll keep you in mind ^^ I always love listening to a good idea. It's fun to ponder. The hard part is finding time to work on all the ideas I want to lol
I feel your pain as atm i'm working on a open world Visual novel and you can tell by that alone that it's going to be a lot of work and im always having 101 ideas to add to it but not really having the time to think how could this effect the story etc
anyways i'm always ready for anything and to tell you if lets say you give me something you really like (e.g. fave band or movie) and gove me an genre ill come up with an concept idea for a game in about half and hour
but anyway again nice work with this one of the couple visual novel fur games i come across that i really enjoy so keep up the good work as to be honist i wish i could have the art skill you got XD it's the only thing that lets me down i draw like im 10 (and before you say anything though my dream job is a game designer I want to be more of the ideas man behind it all creating the story characters backstory etc)
...i just noticed how much i'm talking about myself here XD ill stop now good luck and just know that i support you on this (emotionally i'm too poor to give you money sorry ;_;) so all you can do is your best so go for it and never stop
Mostly bi, You can select if you want to play as male or female, and then most of the romance options will allow you to get sexy with any of the romance options.
I tried to even it out as much as possible. Of the 10 main cast characters with sex scenes 7 are guys and only 3 are girls, so the game started out as mostly gay if anything. Now I tried to even it out a little with the bonus scenes. So far the bonus scenes add in 4 sex scenes with females that are minor characters. That brings the total up to 7 guys and 7 girls with sex scenes, so I feel very comfortable labeling it as bi, especially since each can be played with a male and female perspective. The next planned bonus scenes will give some of the male minor characters some love.
Didn't expected a reply to that but it is just funny that I didn't try to date with a single girl (but I checked the 1st dates without save) and got 4 scenes with those minor characters. Lol But it is funny to have a date with all guys in a single play at least the 1st date that I got until now.
Because of the lack of save slots I have been playing for hours to see some of the choices and play again choosing what I want. Not that is much I most played more than 100 hours of Nekojishi to see all the variations in texts and all 12 ends of it. But had a skip until find unseen text.
I like the map part but could be nicer get more arrows showing the special extra scenes. I really having a lot of walk all around the city to find them. At least I going to be in good health with all walking. Heheh
Found some bugs and maybe typos.
Mewing,
Pandrine.
P.S.: Would be nice a special scene with the red dragon and that guy from the 1st special even in the map that give the paper... Heheh ... and I can just imagine that arrest scene with another girl... arresting you to her bed. Lol I mean the protagonist of the game.
P.S.: To be true. I was saving money to pay the rhino guy. Before find out about him had like a thousand of dragon coins.
Yes! All of the art has gotten a revamp and has just finished. The story has gotten a revamp as well and is being proofread at the moment. The writing has almost finished, around 35 of the 40 scenes are finished. And at the moment I'm working on incorporating the earlier scenes into the game so they're working and playable. When I finish half of the game's scenes I'll probably release that here with new art so it's playable and then finish the other half and release the full thing. I don't have a time frame really but I'm hoping to finish the first half in a few months or so. Thanks for your interest! It means a lot :)
I understand that the request I'm about to make my not be fulfilled but I'd rather put it out there than never saying a thing. Can you PLEASE add a female canine character that the player can date. That's all i wanted to ask and if you do my request, i would be 100% down to invest money into this game
sorry for such a long span of time without replying to your comment. The romance options aren't 100% finalized yet so there's still a chance one may be added and removed. And that being said there's also a chance for a canine character to be added. If one more romance option is added it will definitely be female to even things out a little bit.
Eeeh.... I can translate if you wish, I speak Spanish so I can help with that... Sorry, I can read, listening in English but... Writing is a bit difficult (._.
That would be a really big help. I'll finish writing it first and then I'll ask if you'd still be up for that. It's going to be a lot to translate so it will be ok if nobody wants to do it. I think I might just settle for a machine translation then and maybe when people play it they can skim it for mistakes.

I forgot what I was going to say but that aside, amazing game 👍
Edit: I remember now, is there a discord server yet or won't there be one.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
But in the meantime feel free to join the telegram if you have it ^^
Hmm one question: How can i reach the good ending?
Kinda spoiler below:
I love Blinki so much, he's so precious.
Thanks again for the sweet comment!
Your welcome like I said I really like this game and when I get a little bit of extra money I'll send some your way you deserve it and have a good day
I really appreciate it :3 every bit helps and all the donations have gone right back into making the game even better with art and proofreading and extra little features.
Anyone knows where it has saves on Android?
depending on your phone, the actual physical save file might be in a different location, but it's in an xml file in a shared_prefs folder.
it will be something like
/data/data/chasingtail/shared_prefs/chasingtail.xml.
Good to know that. A pity I can't find that in my tablet android 8 Go . So I just copied all the folder.
And... LOL... I just end with Jade by accident in my 1st end. Even having 15 likes with Drackey and Scylez; 14 with the raptor girl.
Playing it right now and I am really enjoying it! I love the characters. Each one is diverse and has a distinct personality. I have to say that Scylez and Blinki are my favorite so far and I cant wait to finish it!
Oh Hooray! I'm super glad you're having a good time and I'd be lying if I didn't say I was even more glad at your selected favorites XD
Yep, found it. Thanks for the help!
Really good game, really good story, this is just a quick comment because of a problem i found: although all of Izzy s scenes are in the game, there is no way to reach her second scene, meaning that it is not possible to reach the good ending with her as the main love interest.
Reaching both of Izzy's scenes is very much possible, you just have to make a certain decision during scene 8 to get it.
Personally I'm not a fan of how you romance Izzy, since it explicitly requires you to snoop on her.
yeah it is a bit of a creeperish way to begin a relationship x3
I told A_Romanian above that maybe if I got super ambitious I'd add a secondary possible route. I could see a way to do it but for now it's probably a bit low on the priority list.
Thanks for clarifying, maybe this is why i missed it everytime. Ill try again. Thanks!
Oh, ok, thanks for the clarification. And good luck with the rest of the game and the sequel!
Can Rickon and Perya be romanced?, Do they have a route?
Currently there is no route for those two, however I do have plans to add a bonus scene with Rickon that may satisfy your wants. Perya also has a possibility to receive the same treatment but it'd be down the road a bit.
Ok dude like actually what the fuck. I downloaded this game because I was bored and wanted some furry smut, but like after I played for like 15 minutes I wasn't even here for the porn anymore. The fact that this game had a more interesting story than most recent games I've played is insane. Easily my favorite furry game out there. Keep up the good work this is amazing.
I downloaded for the porn.
Stayed for the story.
:)
Oh and before I go, I'll just let you know it is possible for Liukhalo to appear at the final ending scene as well, but it takes a specific bit of dialogue towards the end of the game, amusing something unfortunate didn't happen to him ;)
<3 ScylezHehe~ No problem~ It was a complete thrill being able to experience and be part of this story~ Was definitely a wild ride that I could not get enough of~ Definitely a top pick in my opinion~ Will definitely be re-running the story at some point to see if I can improve my relationship scores in some way or get everyone involved in the festivities since I actually rather liked Liukhalo.
Next time I play through this game, likely whenever the next update comes out, I'll try to remember to keep a notepad or something open so I can have a better log of events as they play out. See if I can catch some more of these bugs, typos, and incorrect name tags coming up so I can provide even more assistance in making this the near perfect experience it's already shaping itself to be; as I believe I recall the name tag issue being a surprisingly prevalent one. Actually saw it come up again during Izzy's lewd scene when I was going through the scene selector to see the romance opportunities I missed out on. I mean...if having someone comb through your work so critically and potentially sending said list your way is something you wouldn't mind a complete stranger doing, that is... ^w^;
I think it was mentioned when selecting the exploration setting that it was unfinished! It was recommended to not use it until then.
Thank you for playing! <3
EDIT: I'll also do everything in my power to help Blinki >: (
(Also cheers for the Bob Ross reference)
That and I have not finished it, however I plan to as soon as this is posted)
To be honest I don't know how to put what Im feeling right now into words.
Until we meet again, this is Lone Droid signing off.
has anyone ever had a Nintendo 3DS or a 2DS
i'm happy to say that i am 145 follower.
it's a good even number
Please continue your work and writing! and later down the road I'd love to see what you also create!

dude think you broke him...
but how long did it take to write that
Hello and thank you for such a nice reply!
I'm gonna throw a sale your way.
have you ever thought how meany websites there are, and for me conveniently land on this would but harder then winning the lottery...
maybe not idk.
oh ya good game by the way but i need to know did you make all the characters from pen and pencil?
(ps i am not in to hole furry nor dateing thing am here because like the art man)
Thank you! The compliment means a lot. I'm glad you like the artwork! I did create them all using my drawing tablet digitally on the PC. This is actually the second rendition of each character. Three years ago I drew them all, and then really practiced and improved my art and re-did all the character artwork to what we have now.
i did art for years but i wanted to see what other people make of art and that is how i got here. so keep up the good work like to see more of it!
Hey Scylez, what exactly was in a 2.0 update?
Thanks for the question!
Oh and I almost forgot, I added the "scene picker" so if someone wants to play a specific scene they can play just that one part. It will get another update with more options later but it's been implemented in 2.0 as well!
Alrighty, thanks for the reply! ^^
Thank you :)
yo this is a brilliant game and love the game just got one question i romanced draptor boi Scylez (i mean one the second date the NSFW option) why does it repeat the day after "the scene" its the only thing i'm confused about why doon't it continue after?
still a lovely game also Scylez is my fave btw
Was never said but is this straight gay or bi?
Mostly bi, You can select if you want to play as male or female, and then most of the romance options will allow you to get sexy with any of the romance options.
I think it is most straight. Lol I choose male and got 4 sex scenes with radom girls.
No a single guy.

Meow,
Didn't expected a reply to that but it is just funny that I didn't try to date with a single girl (but I checked the 1st dates without save) and got 4 scenes with those minor characters.
Lol... I played it again had special dates with Drackey (21 likes), Blink (15 likes... No horns... :( ) and Randolf (4 likes?)...
But I end with the shark girl that I didn't even had a single date... Lol...
Still think this game is straight. I was trying to get with Blink and he end...
Not sure how I got a sex scene with only 4 likes with Randolf... Lol...
And not sure how I get 37 likes with the shark girl.
So any news about development or when it might release?
I can't wait!
Yep, don't worry, I'm glad to help xD
And... I don't think that's gonna be a problem, after all, one of my hobbys is write.
i cant help translate but i could help touch up after the machine translation
Love the artwork! Can't wait to actually play it and see the updates sure to come!
Thank you so much! We're working hard to finish writing and making the story much much better and also drawing the rest of the art!
